HELP GULF COAST FAMILIES RETURN AND REBUILD
Three years after Hurricane Katrina, families in New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast are still rebuilding their homes, their communities, and their lives.
But they can't do it alone. After all the promises from President Bush and both Democrats and Republicans in Congress, Gulf Coast communities are still in desperate need of help. For more than three years, they've been largely left on their own. Even after Hurricanes Ike and Gustav this year, Washington still has not shown the political courage to help communities rebuild, so families can finally return home to live with dignity and security.
The Gulf Coast Civic Works Act would create 100,000 living wage jobs, rebuild local infrastructure, restore coastal wetlands and natural flood protection, and create sustainable communities.
The families whose lives were torn apart by Katrina can't wait another day. Tell Congress to pass the Gulf Coast Civic Works Act today so they can rebuild their lives.
Dear Congress,
Three years after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Gulf Coast families still urgently need your help rebuilding their homes, their lives, and their communities.
The Gulf Coast Civic Works Act would create 100,000 living wage jobs, rebuild local infrastructure, restore the environment, and create sustainable communities.
I urge you to keep your promises to the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast and pass this vitally important legislation.
